Why We Process Information

AI Project and Client Data
The data boundary, approved providers, retention arrangements and security controls for client work depend on the architecture and are defined during the engagement. AIMEC does not use identifiable client data to train general-purpose models unless the client has expressly agreed to that use.
Where an engagement uses a third-party model, cloud platform or other service provider, relevant information may be processed by that provider according to the selected configuration, our agreement with the client and the provider’s applicable terms and privacy documentation.
Sharing of Information
We may share information with service providers that support hosting, analytics, communications, security, professional services or delivery of an agreed AI system. We may also disclose information where required by law, to protect legal rights or in connection with a legitimate business restructuring. AIMEC does not sell personal information.
International Processing
Some providers may process information outside South Africa. Where required, we take reasonable steps to use providers and contractual arrangements that support appropriate protection for cross-border processing.
Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, the relevant client agreement, security and record-keeping needs, or applicable legal requirements.
